US-based Nigerian singer, Speed Darlington has shared that he believes to be paid for being a celebrity.
In a conversation in Nedu’s Podcast, ‘Honest Bunch‘, he made this statement as he explained his reasons for his words.
When asked by the host why he believes he should be paid, the controversial rapper stated that he was a public figure that people loved.

He used a meat pie as a subject of study as he stated that people pay for the snack before they eat it because it was what they loved but came with a price.
However, Nedu argued that he made the decision to be a celebrity and without his fan’s love and people paying attention to him, he wouldn’t even call himself a celebrity.
Speed Darlington countered that people love him because of who he was and how he was as he queried Nedu why people decided to love him and not a madman.

Meanwhile, Speed Darlington had a heated confrontation with fans in Ajah, Lagos State, due to reports of him requesting payment of N5,000 for photos with him.
The incident escalated quickly as the fiery artist, known as Akpioku, engaged in a war of words with the crowd.
Resulting in a tit-for-tat exchange of insults and jests about his appearance and attire.
