A Nigerian mother in the UK was surprised when her daughter showed her a yam tuber that cost N4,000.
The daughter posted the video on TikTok and claimed that she gave her mother a lesser conversion rate.
She held out the tuber and said it cost £6.99 (N4k) on the video, doing a lower conversion to Naira.

When her mother saw the yam, she was amazed at the price and compared it to her seedlings at home.
The woman was even more shocked when the lady displayed her pumpkin leaves (ugwu leaves), which she had purchased for £2 (N1,127).
Netizens agreed with the older woman as they shared prices of yam in Nigeria.

Nigerian mother rejects car gift from her undergraduate son
Meanwhile, a mother turned down the car gift her undergraduate son bought for her to celebrate her birthday.
In tears, the woman questioned the son’s source of income, accusing him of doing Yahoo (internet fraud).
A viral video shared on Facebook captured the moment the son with the company of his friends led the mother to where the new Lexus car was parked.
