Veteran actress, Folashade Omoniyi Adewale popularly known as Lepa shandy said she disguised herself to avoid Nigerians in the diaspora.
The Nollywood star, Folashade Omoniyi Adewale is a movie star who had relocated abroad for over a decade, disclosed this in her recent interview with Punch.
She said Nigerians living in the diaspora usually walked up to her after she relocated to greet her in excitement, which she did not like.
According to her being a public figure is quite overwhelming as people tend to capture every moment of your life.
I disguise my looks
Lepa Shandy also said she does not wear makeup so that Nigerians in the diaspora would not recognize her as the celebrity that she is.
During the interview, she stated an incident when she had to run away from a store because she heard someone singing Baba Ara’s song.
Her reason for disguising her looks was because Nigerians do not mind their business.
In her words:
For instance, when I moved abroad, I didn’t want people to recognise me and I don’t also like staying around our people because they don’t mind their business. I sometimes don’t use make-up so they won’t recognise me.
