Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie recently discussed his opinion of divorced actresses in the film industry.
Pete highlighted names like Tonto Dikeh and Ireti Doyle among divorced actresses and claimed he was startled to learn that Chioma Chukwa had also left her spouse.
The well-known actor also gushed about Genevive Nnaji, admitting he sought to get in touch with her when rumors about her battle with mental illness became rampant.
Pete Edochie’s take on divorce seemed to rattle netizens as he expressed his displeasure at the divorce rate in Nollywood.
In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Pete admitted that he was astonished to learn that Chioma Akpotha had split from her spouse.
He also brought up divorced actresses Ireti Doyle and Tonto Dikeh, saying that many people were missing the meaning of marriage because it was about commitment, no matter what the circumstances.
“You take a vow when you are going to get married for better or worst, not for better or out. You will always think it’s greener on the other side, that is the mistake we all make.”

The seasoned actor talked about how much he adores Genevive Nnaji, a prominent Nollywood actress who has played in some of their films.
Pete claimed that Genevieve sees him as her father and that he sees her as his daughter.
Reacting to rumours of the actress battling mental illness, Pete said: “I have not heard of her lately ever since I heard she is a little disturbed mentally, I don’t know whether it is true or false, I hope that one day she calls me and say I am ok.”
