Seun Kuti: Police React to Peter P-Square’s Plea for Mercy

The Lagos State Police Command has responded to Peter Okoye’s comment on Seun Kuti’s recent altercation with a police officer.

On Saturday, Seun Kuti, the son of the late Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti, allegedly slapped a police officer after his vehicle was stopped on the Third Mainland Bridge.

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, condemned the assault and ordered the arrest and prosecution of Seun.

In reaction to the incident, Peter Okoye took to Twitter to express his disappointment and pleaded with the Nigerian Police Force to show mercy.

However, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, advised Peter to face the consequences of his actions if ever in a similar situation.

Hundeyin further ridiculed Peter’s suggestion that slapping an unarmed police officer was acceptable if a family was in danger.

He challenged Peter to try such a move in both Nigeria and the United States and see if eminent Nigerians would come to his defense.

The incident involving Seun Kuti has sparked a debate about the use of force by police officers in Nigeria.
