Teen who battled sickle cell as a child survives, proceeds to Harvard to study medicine

A young man has decided to not give up despite the health challenge he had as a young child as he finally graduates high school and is set to be a doctor.

Hanif Mouehla, a 17-year-old young man who got admission into Harvard University as a medical student shared his story.

The determined young man battled sickle cell and won when he was a kid, according to a report by The Children and Adolescent Cancer & Blood Diseases Center, Hanif’s parents were carriers of the Sickle Cell trait.

They were sure none of their children would be born with sickle cell, and they were shocked when the young was diagnosed with what they feared.

At that time doctors were uncertain that Hanif would make it and even his parents were told to prepare for the worse.

However, Hanif fought through and made it and is currently clear of sickle cell, the young man is on his way to Harvard University to become a medical doctor, where he can help find a cure for sickle cell.

Meanwhile, Chiamaka Udeh took to the popular social media platform, Twitter, to enthusiastically share the news of her achievement as she becomes the best graduate in a foreign university.

Chiamaka successfully completed her medical studies at Stavropol State Medical University, one of Russia’s oldest educational institutions, where she graduated with First Class Honors in Medicine.
