Tragic death of 500-Level student sparks intense protests at FUTA

  • A final-year student at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) passed away after experiencing a seizure a few days before the start of their exams.
  • A lot of people think that the university’s health center didn’t handle the situation very well, and that’s why he died.
  • A large number of the student’s classmates and friends chose to protest as a result of the tragic tragedy. They marched around the campus to express their dissatisfaction and ended up causing disturbances as a result of their behaviour.

On Friday, August 25, students from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) gathered in Akure, Ondo state, to express their grief and rage at the unexpected death of a fellow student.

The evening of Thursday, August 24, this student, Akeredolu “Clinton” Ayomide, who was in his final year at the 500-level, fell and died.

Long periods of time were spent by the students standing on the bustling Akure/Ilesha route. This caused the vehicles on the route to stop and remain stationary, resulting in a lengthy backup of traffic.

The students didn’t listen to the university administration’s requests to end the demonstration when they sought to speak with them. They claimed that Ayomide’s death was caused by the university medical center’s lack of resources for treating sick patients.

A student, talking to the news, told their side of the story like this:

“We rushed him to the health center around 8:30 pm. When we got there, there was power outage, and throughout the oxygen set up, CPR and injections they gave him, the light wasn’t restored.

We had to use our flashlights. This is hard to believe that there’s no backup power supply in the clinic.”

Embattled UNILAG Student, Chidinma Ojukwu Makes New Claims About Super Tv CEO’s Death

In other news, Channels Television, this contradicts her earlier claim in a recorded video played before Justice Yetunde Adesanya of the Lagos High Court.

In July 2021, the suspect stated that she did not know his death, contrary to her initial claims that she stabbed Ataga in self-defence.

Chidinma dissociated herself from her earlier narration, which detailed how she committed the crime, in the new video shown in court on Tuesday, October 18. Instead, Chidinma claimed in the new video that she had no idea who killed the late Ataga because she had left him alone on the Tuesday she was murdered.
