Yeni Kuti, the eldest daughter of music legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti, recently shared her reasons for not leaving her marriage, even in the face of infidelity.
In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo on the show “WithChude,” the 62-year-old explained that her decision was influenced by her father’s polygamous lifestyle and her mother’s commitment to their marriage.

Yeni emphasized that her mother’s loyalty and dedication to Fela, despite his multiple wives, inspired her own perspective.
She believes that society should not judge her mother’s admirable qualities.
Drawing from her parents’ unique relationship, Yeni chooses to prioritize the endurance and strength of her own marriage, even if her husband cheats.

She expressed her belief that others should not pass judgment on her decision, as everyone has their own choices to make.
Yeni pointed out that her father had 27 wives, yet her mother remained steadfast.
She firmly stated that she would not leave her husband over a single indiscretion, as it goes against her upbringing and the values instilled in her.
