Young lady pushes back after failing WAEC, emerges with first class in Law

Naziha Amin Gombillah, a dedicated woman from Ghana, overcame obstacles to earn first class in law from university.

Naziha Amin earned an exceptional 3.74 grade points out of a possible 4.00 to earn a first class Bachelor of Laws degree from University of Professional Studies (UPSA).

She was named the institution’s valedictorian as a result of this. Naziha also set a record at the university as the first graduate to receive a first-class law degree.

Speaking about her path to success, she described how it was difficult for her to get accepted into the institution. This was after she failed Mathematics in her first West African Examination (WAEC).

Her setbacks became her spring board 

Her academic advancement was delayed by a year since she had to retake the exam the following year. 

She claimed that in addition to finding it challenging to get accepted. She also had difficulty with her classes while she was a student.

“Even at the university level, there were times it got tough. I thought I would resit certain courses, but giving up never crossed my mind. We had started it, so I had to complete it. I had to make my parents proud,” she said.

Her perseverance paid off, and she now aims to be a recognized authority on international energy law. Her ambition included being as well as a lecturer and fashion industry icon.

According to Naziha, a setback she experienced a few years ago actually marked the start of a series of opportunities for her.

Meanwhile, a 22-year-old brilliant Nigerian lady has graduated with a first-class degree from a US University.

The lady, identified as Karen Ogochukwu Elisha-Wigwe, bagged a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Miami University College of Engineering and Computing, Ohio, United States of America.

While sharing her exceptional story via a LinkedIn post, the scholar revealed that she left Nigeria at 18 to further her education abroad.
