- The young man, Eddiong Bassey received the degree at 17 years old from Lead University in Nigeria.
- Dr. Eddiong also holds a distinction Master’s degree in International Accounting & Finance from the University of Kent in the United Kingdom.
Eddiong Bassey, a young Nigerian who graduated with a degree in accounting received a PhD degree at 25 from the National University of Ireland.
At the age of 17, Dr. Eddiong Bassey graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Leadcity University in Nigeria in 2015 and went on to become a chartered accountant in the same year.
At the age of 8, Dr. Eddiong was accepted into Lagos, Nigeria’s Caleb International College, where he graduated with a high school diploma in 2005.
Instead of the required six years, he attended school for four years, and his father taught him at home for one year.
As time went on, Dr. Eddiong was admitted to Lead City University in Ibadan, Nigeria, at the age of 13 and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting there at the age of 17.
PhD degree at 25? What a feat!
He received the university’s overall best graduating student award for the academic year 2013–2014 in addition to graduating with first-class honors.
He passed a couple professional tests he took while attending Leadcity University.
The Chartered Institute of Taxation Examinations, the Taxation Technician Scheme, and the Accounting Technician Scheme are among the professional exams.
Dr. Eddiong earned his certification by writing and passing the final exams for the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria while serving in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Dr. Eddiong holds a distinction Master’s degree in International Accounting & Finance from the University of Kent in the United Kingdom in addition to a bachelor’s degree.
He is also a graduate of the University of East Anglia in the UK with a Master of Research in Social Science Research Methods.
