Award-winning comedian and filmmaker AY, modestly acknowledged that he does not place himself among Nigeria’s top 20 funniest comedians.
He also mentioned how the criticism he receives on blogs and social media has played a role in his personal growth and development as a comedian.
The comedian candidly expressed, “When I read comments on blogs where people say, ‘I don’t find this guy funny’ or ‘I can’t even stand him,’ it becomes a propelling factor for me.
It goes beyond causing depression as they might intend. Instead, I take it as a signal to work harder and improve myself.”

Furthermore, he emphasized that he wouldn’t include himself if asked to list the funniest individuals in the comedy industry, even if given the opportunity to name 20.
However, he clarified that others may have a different perspective and may place him where they think he belongs.
