In a widely circulated video, Kuti voiced her disappointment with this prevailing trend, highlighting its detrimental impact on the reputation of the Nollywood industry.
She emphasized that Nollywood is not a pension-based industry and that actors should be responsible for their financial future during their active years.
She also hinted that some actors begging for help may have mismanaged their earnings in the past.

Following the backlash, Kuti released another video to clarify her stance. She maintained that it is acceptable for ailing actors to seek help online, but those who are healthy should refrain from begging.

Kuti mentioned that she had previously used her social media platform to help others, and they expressed gratitude for her support.
She specifically advised two veteran actors not to seek help publicly, so they would not lack assistance when they genuinely needed it.
