During the ninth edition of the AMVCA held in Lagos on Saturday, May 20, the esteemed actress was honored with the esteemed Industry Merit Award.
Expressing her deep sentiments on Instagram, Patience Ozokwo openly recognized the substantial sacrifices made by her children in support of her career.

She acknowledged the challenges her children faced as they endured prolonged periods without her physical presence, owing to her demanding acting commitments.
Furthermore, she disclosed that her daughter had previously acted as her manager and continues to play a vital role as her associate manager, emphasizing the enduring nature of their professional collaboration.
Expanding on her thoughts, Patience Ozokwo delved into the early stages of her career, highlighting the absence of social media and the reliance on talent, humility, word of mouth, and trust as the key factors for success.
In her own words, she said, “LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD! When we started in the industry there was no social media and so many other luxuries we enjoy now. Progress was completely dependent on your talent, humility, word of mouth, and trust.
“I appreciate my colleagues who work tirelessly and oftentimes without recognition. I appreciate my family who have always surrounded me with love and acceptance.
“My children sacrificed a lot and stayed long periods without a mother. At one point, my daughter became my PA and is still my Associate Manager till date.”
