Don Jazzy, the acclaimed Nigerian producer and music executive, recently provided an explanation as to why he didn’t sign Wizkid and Davido, two prominent afrobeat artists, to his former record label, Mo’Hits.
Don Jazzy disclosed that the chance to sign Wizkid slipped away due to Banky W, the head of EME, having already taken him under his wing.

Regarding Davido, Jazzy acknowledged that he recognized the singer’s potential for success even without the backing of a record label, which influenced his decision not to sign him.
He expressed regret for not signing Simi and Teni, stating that he admired both artists and wished he had the chance to work with them.
He also mentioned nearly finalizing a deal with rapper Falz The Bahd Guy, but unfortunately, it fell through.
These revelations came to light during Don Jazzy’s appearance on the Leaderboard podcast hosted by Fisayo Fosudo.

Despite not signing some of these prominent artists, Jazzy acknowledged their talent and expressed admiration for their work.
