A Nigerian man asked for the old naira notes to be given to him amid the unrest brought on by the ban on them.
The individual, known as @mcalways1 on TikTok, made a public plea for Nigerians to give him the old naira notes they were holding.
He pleaded with Nigerians not to throw away theirs, saying that the money was still being used in his area.

“I beg you in the name of God. Forget Emefiele. Forget Buhari. If you have old naira notes, bring them to me. See, we are still spending it in our area,” he claimed.

In response to his post, some online users stated they planned to keep the notes they had because they thought they would be valuable in the future.

Terrorist members distribute old naira notes to commuters
Meanwhile, suspected members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) have distributed huge amounts of old notes to commuters in the Lake Chad Basin.
This occurred ahead of the deadline for the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) cashless policy.
The incident occurred after Mairari village, along the Maiduguri/Monguno highway on Saturday in Guzamala LGA of Borno State.
