A viral video of LGBTQ Nigerians who came out of the closet and shared their experiences has sparked outrage and condemnation from the Nigeria Police Force.
The spokesperson of the force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the police will not tolerate such “criminal” acts and will pursue the LGBTQ members who violated the anti-gay law.

The video, which was part of a popular online challenge, showed LGBTQ Nigerians talking about their s3xuality and the challenges they face in a conservative society.
The video elicited mixed reactions from Nigerians, with some questioning the effectiveness of the law that bans same-s3x relationships and imposes a 14-year jail term for offenders.

ACP Adejobi said the police were alerted to the video by an X user who demanded action from the authorities. He said the police would investigate the video and track down the LGBTQ members who participated in it.
He warned that the police will not spare anyone who engages in “unnatural” and “immoral” conduct.
He said the police will issue a statement on the matter soon.

The spokesperson for the police in Lagos, Benjamin Hundeyin, said this while confirming receipt of the petition by Tiwa Savage against Davido.
