- Renowned Nigerian comedian, Julius Agwu has disclosed that the failure of his marriage to his ex-wife, Ibiere Maclayton, can be attributed to his failure to seek divine guidance.
- During an interview with The Punch, he revealed that his challenges in marriage which led to his split with his wife and his struggle with a brain tumour.
He explained that his ex-wife was attracted to his money during their marriage, but when he encountered health issues, she chose to end the marriage.

In his words, “I believe that any marriage without God would not last. When I married my wife, I did not even consult God.
Some of us got married when there was so much money, and at that time, practically every girl wanted to be with us.
But, after marriage, if anything happens to one, they would say, “I don’t want this man again”. I suggest that people should consult God first before getting married.”
The 50 years old actor talked about his recovery journey following the end of his failed marriage.
Julius Agwu emphasized that while the experience had imparted a valuable lesson to him, he didn’t rule out the possibility of considering marriage once more in the future.
