God help us – Nigerian graduate celebrates getting his NCE on Facebook, his English provokes reactions

Umar Bala Safana, a recent Nigerian graduate got trolled on Facebook for his use of English in a happy post. 

The Nigerian graduate, who stated that he lived in Katsina state, posted a moving message on Facebook along with pictures of himself with his Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) diploma. 

Many believed that the post should not have come from someone who, by virtue of his degree, may soon become a teacher because it was full of grammatical faults and flaws that were too serious to be excused as typographical errors.

His post read: 

“Every thing have a beginning it most have an end like yes today we start the N.C.E program but to day we are finish thanks all mighty god to show me this day. “And also thanks my Seniors brothers and juniors brother that guid me apart of this studies. “And also thanks my friend and sisters that are partsped at this level. “At the end praise be to Allah protect me and this people that are part sped apart my life.” 

Social media reactions

Netizens were appalled by his English and made comments concerning it.

Okeh Onyekachi Chukwuemeka Ooc: “These are the Adamu Garuba of the future. These guys have really shown us so much shame and embarrassment in this country.” 

Nello Okoro: “Chai! Ara agbaala English na teacher. “But true true that is the kind of teacher in the North, especially in government schools.” 

Onuoha Chiamaka Adaeze Ukpai: “At least he go school, our president and president elect nko. “God help us.” 

Chisom Ezekiel: “Atleast this one can speak English for him to write this. Go far Gombe and see qualified nurses that can’t speak English yet they went to University.”

Exceptional Nigerian graduate bags Ph.D at 25 years

Meanwhile, a young lady at 25 years old has set a record at Babcock University as the youngest Ph.D graduate.

The lady, Priscilla Asikhia, from Osun state, graduated from Babcock University, went for her master’s degree and later completed her Ph.D.

Priscilla disclosed while sharing her success story on LinkedIn that it took her more than ten years of dedicated study and a lot of effort to obtain a Ph.D.
