A Nigerian man has done his country proud after emerging as the best-graduating student at the University of Ibadan which earned him a PhD scholarship to the University of Cambridge.
The young lad identified as Segun Afolajimi graduated with first-class honours in Medicine and Surgery at the university.
Segun obtained his Bachelor’s degree and proceeded through the Clarendon scholarship for his Masters degree in integrated immunology.
During the Masters program, the young man applied for a scholarship program, Gates Cambridge Scholarship, and was awarded.
Segun aims to study Cancer Immunology for his doctorate degree using the awarded scholarship.
Following his achievements in the UI, the dedicated and hardworking young man attributes his notable success to his teachers, and most especially his family who encouraged and supported him despite their financial struggles.

Meanwhile, a Nigerian lady received praise from fellow Nigerians after her exceptional achievements reached the internet.
The young woman identified as Fatima Abdulwaheed Akinola made history when she became the first-ever female to obtain a perfect grade at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University in mathematics.
Following this, she got admission into a university in the US, Marshall University where she pursued her Masters of Arts degree in mathematics.
