South West women organized a one million rally to support APC’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu. These women, who operate under the banner of Yoruba Women for Tinubu, assert that they are the advocators for women in the region.
The rally walk was held at Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State. It started at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium in Kuto and ended at the governor’s office in Oke-Mosan.
According to Punch, the National President of Yoruba Women for Tinubu, Busayo Toyo, explained the reason behind this self-sponsored act of service.

For her, the walk was held to demonstrate their unwavering support for the former Lagos State Governor in the upcoming election.
Her words are,
This One-Million-Women Walk and sensitisation for our father; the real son of the soil, Bola Ahmed Tinubu features all Yoruba women from all parts of Nigeria and even from the diaspora to show our support and love for him.

Women Inclusivity
The Women President for Tinubu further explained the need for women’s inclusiveness in policy making in the country.

This is also one of the missions of the walk, to show gender inclusivity among the supporters of the APC presidential candidate.
According to her, Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory benefits everyone, especially women.

Araba Clara, the group’s welfare coordinator, expressed her optimism for the 2023 election’s success in light of these women’s participation.
