- An Oyinbo couple from New Zealand had a challenging flight when they found themselves seated next to a dog providing emotional support.
- During the long flight, the dog caused disturbances by making noises and passing gas, making the journey quite unpleasant for the husband and wife. To make matters worse, the dog occupied the husband’s leg space, and its saliva ended up on his legs.
- According to the dog’s owner, he becomes anxious and requires the dog’s presence on the plane for comfort.
An Oyinbo couple wants their money back from Singapore Airlines because their long-distance flight got spoiled by a dog.
While flying from Paris to New Zealand with Singapore Airlines, two passengers got stuck beside a loud and emotionally needy dog.
Gill and Warren Press had reserved fancy seats for their flight, but their journey turned into a smelly and noisy ordeal thanks to the dog’s flatulence and disruptive behavior, as reported by Independence.

“I heard this noise, a heavy snorting,” Gill told Stuff.
“I thought it was my husband’s phone, but we looked down and realised it was the dog breathing.”
The couple wanted to change their seats on the plane.
However, the only seats still available were those in the regular seats at the back of the aircraft.
During the flight, Gill and Warren couldn’t stand the bad smell from a dog’s gas.
The person with the dog couldn’t put it in the aisle because the flight attendants needed to move their food carts there.
“My husband was in shorts, and was getting the dog’s saliva goo on his leg,” Gill said.
She sent an email to the airline to express her unhappiness. They replied with a gift of travel vouchers valued at N180,000.
Gill didn’t like the offer she received from the airline, so she told them it wasn’t good enough. She wanted all her money back instead.
“We didn’t receive the experience we paid for.”
The couple was contacted by Singapore Airlines, as confirmed by their spokesperson.
“We sincerely apologise that this did not occur in this case, and will work with our airport teams to ensure that this lapse does not occur in future,” the airline said.
