Peter Obi defeats Atiku and Tinubu in strong PDP state

Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, has defeated his major counterparts, Atiku and Tinubu in a strong PDP state.

According to the count by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s state collation officer, Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo, and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom Obi polled a total of 331,163 to win Edo state.

Bola Tinubu, the candidate of All Progressive Congress, scored 144,471 to finish second while Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Atiku Abubakar, had 89,585. Rabiu Kwakwanso of the NNPP, and the candidate of ZLP scored 2,743 and 4082 respectively.

19,129 votes were rejected.

There was voter apathy in the state as 603, 894 voters were accredited, while 2,501,081 were registered for the exercise. Also, the total valid votes were 581,266,  and the total votes cast were 600,395.

Labour Party’s Peter Obi won the presidential election in 12 Local Government Areas of Igueben, Esan Central, Esan North-East, Egor, Esan South-East, Esan West, Oredo, Ikpoba-Okha, Ovia North-East, Ovia South-West, Uhunmwonde, and Orhionmwon. Whereas APC won in six LGAs of Owan East, Owan West, Etsako Central, Etsako East, Etsako West and Akoko-Edo.

At the end of the compilation, agents of LP, APC and PDP, of the 18 participating political parties, signed the compiled results.

Peter Obi defeats Tinubu in Lagos

In a similar story, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, defeated the candidate of the All Progressive Party (APC), Bola Tinubu.

According to Channels News, Peter Obi polled a total vote of 582,454 compared to the 572,606 scored by Bola Tinubu.

Obi won in nine local government areas such as Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Amuwo-Odofin, Eti-Osa, Ikeja, Kosofe, Oshodi-Isolo, Somolu, Ojo and Alimosho, while Tinubu won in 11 local government areas.
