A 27-year-old man from Delta State has claimed that his father is none other than the Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The young man, identified as Emmanuel, said that his mother had told him that before she got married to her current husband, she had only him for Sanwo-Olu. His mother is from the Oleri community in the Udu Local Government area of Delta state.

“I am 100% sure that I am the son of Governor Sanwo-Olu. I just want to see the man, Sir, as my father,” he said to reporters at the High Court 2 location in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta.
Emmanuel said that he works “casual jobs” to support his wife and three children and that he has never seen his father.
On Tuesday, December 6, when the matter came up for hearing before the court, Emmanuel’s attorney, John Aikpokpo-Martins, also revealed to reporters that the claimant was his client in that case. The Lagos State governor is a defendant in that case.
In Suit No: EHC/148/2022 between Emmanuel Moses Sanwo-Olu and Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the claimant averred that he was the conjugal product of a congenial relationship that existed between his mother, Grace Moses, and the defendant in 1994/95.

In his notice of summons issued by J. O. Aikpokpo-Martins, Esq., the claimant requests the following from the court:
“A declaration that the defendant is the biological father of the claimant begotten from Madam Grace Moses of Oleri, Delta State. An order directing and compelling the defendant to acknowledge and accord the claimant all the rights of a son in accordance with all the laws applicable whether customarily, statutorily, or constitutionally. An order of perpetual injunction restraining the defendant from further denying the parenthood of the claimant.”
