Young lady sets record as first-ever graduate in her family, wins UK Chevening scholarship to study for her masters

Aminata Jaiteh, a young woman, earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Gambia, becoming the first-ever graduate in her family.

For her master’s programme, she was also given the renowned Chevening scholarship.

Aminata Jaiteh earned an honours mark (Magna Cum Laude) for her bachelor’s in developmental studies from the University of Gambia.

She accomplished the remarkable achievement of being awarded a full Chevening scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies.

Aminata posted on Linkedin about her accomplishment in winning the coveted Chevening Scholarship for her master’s programme. 

First-ever graduate to chevening journey

She announced that she would enrol at Suss3x University to pursue a master’s degree in gender and development studies.

She expressed her happiness at being able to pursue her dream programme in the United Kingdom. 

Growing up in a culture that frequently discouraged girls from pursuing their aspirations, according to Aminata, gave her the courage to break convention and dare to dream big.

She claimed that despite coming from a background of poverty, social injustice, and financial reliance, she overcome them. 

Young lady sets record as first-ever graduate in her family

First-ever graduate in her family is not an easy feat

This was seen when she became the first-ever graduate from a university in her family and is now a worldwide leader who encourages girls to aspire and stand up for their rights.

She claimed that her work with the nongovernmental organisation The Girls’ Agenda had inspired her to pursue a postgraduate degree that would enhance the empowerment of women and girls.

Aminata claimed that her Chevening experience confirmed that despite obstacles, dedication, bravery, discipline, and self-challenge lead to achievement. 

She claimed that in order to complete her application, she had to stay late nights at the office revising essays and practise interviews. She also had to deal with poor internet connectivity while working in rural areas.

She expressed her gratitude to the University of Suss3x, the Chevening Awards, the British Embassy in Banjul, and the UK in Gambia organisation for allowing her to study in the UK. 

She expressed gratitude to the professors and mentors who had suggested her.

Aminata exhorted all females to keep pursuing their goals in order to make their dreams come true and make a positive impact on the world.

Meanwhile, a young lady posted a TikTok video describing how she suddenly developed swelling in her hands, eyes, and head.

The lady, @ladytee_thulie  claimed that the trauma started off with a severe itching feeling on her scalp, which she initially attributed to her hairdo.

She chose to cut her hair since she was worried about the swelling getting worse the following morning.
