- Yul Edochie has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
- Kanu has been detained since his arrest and extradition from Kenya to Nigeria two years ago, following his advocacy for the realization of Biafra.

Controversial Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has requested President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to grant freedom to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB (Indigenous People of Biafra).
Kanu has been held in custody since his arrest and extradition from Kenya two years ago due to his activism for Biafra’s cause.
Despite court orders for Kanu’s release, the Nigerian government has refused to set him free.

Taking to Twitter, Edochie implored Tinubu, whom he recognized as a long-standing fighter for democracy and a supporter of men and women, to ensure Kanu’s release from the custody of the Department of State Security (DSS).
Addressing Tinubu as “our Leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Jagaban,” Edochie humbly requested the liberation of Kanu, appealing as a son to his respected leader.
