57-year-old woman returns to junior high school, aims to fulfill dream of becoming a nurse

A determined 57-year-old woman from Ghana, Elizabeth Yamoah set her dream before herself and re-enrolled in high school to complete her education.

The quinquagenarian re-enrolled into a junior high school with her granddaughter at Agona Odoben Presby.

Her feat served as an inspiring one to many her age in Africa and beyond.

While sharing her story, TV3 Ghana noted that there are many old people who desire to complete their education.

However, due to proximity and financial constraints, it has not been possible for them. This makes Elizabeth a role model to them.

Elizabeth took the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) and is focused on achieving her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse.

101-year-old black man finally completes high school education after dropping out in 1938

Meanwhile, a 101-year-old known as Merrill Pittman Cooper finally achieved his High School Diploma after abandoning his education in 1938.

Merrill discontinued his education because of the civil war in America and the financial difficulties he encountered.

He enrolled at Storer College in Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia US from 1934 to 1938. It was a boarding school that was founded after the Civil war that educated enslaved children at the time.
