Massive reactions flooded the social media space as guests in a Nigerian event received new Naira notes and tubers of yam as gifts.
At the event, new Naira notes and two tubers of yam were seen to be neatly arranged on the seats of each guest that attended the event.
The act by the organizers of the event was frowned upon by many who thought it was political. However, many congratulated them for putting a smile on the faces of people.

Church rejects old notes as tithes and offering
Meanwhile, the earlier issued date by the CBN Governor for the expiration of the old naira notes as legal tender made churches reject the old notes.
Tribuneonlineng reported that some churches in Edo state refused the old naira notes as offering and tithes on Sunday.
This is probably because they were afraid they would not meet the first deadline of the old notes.
