Are you a criminal? — Amidst new naira wahala, angry customers scatter POS stand, chase operator after charging 4k for 10k

In the increasing unrest caused by scarcity of the new naira notes, some angry customers chased a POS operator away and destroyed her stand. This was after she asked for exorbitant service fees.

In the video now making rounds online, a man was seen fuming angrily after the operator informed them she was taking 4k charge to give out 10k.

It is no longer news that POS operators have been having a swell time in a season like this. And customers who are frustrated are not finding it funny anymore.

New Naira wahala: Protest erupts in Warri, angry residents destroy POS stand

In a similar story, residents have angrily dismantled a POS operator’s kiosk in Warri, Delta state in order to portray their frustration over the exorbitant charges.

It is no longer news that POS operators have taken advantage of the Naira scarcity to charge Nigerians outrageous fees to withdraw money.

Since the beginning of the new Naira note crisis, withdrawal fees have skyrocketed. POS operators, who previously charged N100 for every N5,000, now demand as much as N1500 for every N5000 withdrawn.
