A recent video of a robot waiter named ‘Peanut’ getting upset with a customer in a restaurant was trending on social media.

Peanut is one of the robot waiters at the U & Me Revolving Hot Pot restaurant in Orlando, USA. 

The video was originally posted on TikTok by @artificialtechnology and captioned “Artificial Intelligence Waitress Bot Gets very Upset”.

Angry robot waiter triggers hot debate

The U & ME Revolving Hot Pot restaurant has been known for employing the services of robotst to serve customers for several years. According to the bio on the restaurant’s website, the robots are able to deliver food to the tables, greet customers, and even sing birthday songs.

In the video that went viral, a woman was captured standing in the way of the robot waiter, and Peanut told her “Don’t block my way Please, I have to work otherwise I’ll be fired”.

Social media users took to the comment section to react to the video. 

Some users sympathized with Peanut while others were amused, promising to tip him well if they visited the restaurant. 

Also, some users were concerned that robots are taking over human jobs. They spoke about the impact of artificial intelligence and robotics on various aspects of life and business, sharing their experiences of interacting with robots in different settings, such as hotels, airports, and stores. They commented that the use of robots in fast-food restaurants was one of such primary examples.
