A bus conductor almost left a passenger stranded after he rejected the redesigned Naira note handed to him.
On Tuesday, Dec 15, a female passenger tried appealing to the bus conductor that she had no other cash on him, but he advised her to board another vehicle instead.
In a viral video shared by Instablog9ja on Twitter, the Lagos bus conductor explained that he doesn’t recognize the redesigned Naira notes.

However, other passengers prevailed on the commercial bus conductor, and he collected the money from the lady.
The bus conductor is probably used to the old notes and maybe hasn’t heard of the new Naira notes in circulation.
He may also be scared of being duped with counterfeit currency, which explains his fears.

Meanwhile, Abdulrasheed Bawa, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), stated that the dollar could fall to N200 after the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) implements the Naira redesign.
He stated this during an interview with Deutsche Welle’s Hausa service. Bawa said, “The law says the redesigning of Naira notes should be done every eight years, but we spent 20 years without any changes on them.”
