Just In: Atiku Abubakar wins in Akwa-Ibom

The Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has been officially announced as the victor of the Presidential election in Akwa Ibom State

The independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning officer in Akwa Ibom, Prof. Emmanuel Adigio officially declared this on Monday February 27

According to Punch, the PDP candidate, Atiku had a total vote of 214,012 while the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu pulled a vote of 160, 620 and the Labour Party, Peter Obi, garnered 132, 683 votes.

Out of the 31 Local government Areas in Akwa Ibom with a total number of 2,357,418 registered voters, where only 594,450 were accredited to vote, Atiku won in 22 of the Local Councils.
