The healthcare professional, with a background of seven years in her field as a midwife, shared that she was positioned at the back of the expecting woman when she commenced labour.
In an interaction with JoyNews, Fatimata conveyed that she empathized with the woman’s distress and willingly intervened to facilitate the delivery of a healthy baby boy within the swiftly moving vehicle.

The Midwife who delivered a baby in a bus said she was panicking
The midwife described the encounter as the most rewarding throughout her career spanning seven years.
Fatima:
“At first, I was panicking. I have been working in midwifery for seven years, but when I encountered that case, I panicked because I didn’t even have protective garments like gloves. I had to use my bare hands to collect the baby; I couldn’t just watch the baby fall on the bus. It’s fulfilling and joyous. Since my seven years of midwifery, today is my most fulfilling moment because I feel like I have saved a mother in her vulnerable state.”
The new mother and her infant received medical attention at a clinic, Fatimata appended. The interview video of the midwife, published on YouTube by JoyNews, had amassed numerous views at the time of this report.
