Nigerian man recounts how he abandoned a woman who wanted 5 children because of Economic reasons

  • In Australia, a Nigerian guy dumped a woman who wanted five children because he thought it would be too expensive to travel with them.
  • He tweeted about his experience and included a screenshot of the N13 million ticket cost for an eight-person family travelling on Qatar Airways from Brisbane to New York.
  • His tweet gained a lot of attention and received a variety of responses from other users who either agreed with him, made fun of him, or tried to convince him otherwise.

An Australian-based Nigerian man recounts how he abandoned a woman who wanted 5 children because of Economic reasons. He revealed the story on Twitter.

According to the man, who goes by the nickname @princesydney, he mentally calculated the cost of flying on Qatar Airways from Brisbane to New York with a family of eight and came to the conclusion that it was out of his price range.

He stated:

“I was once at the talking stage with someone, she wanted 5 kids, my first mental calculation was family of 8 travelling on @qatarairways from Australia to the US, my maths did not add up. I thought she was joking but she was serious, I knew there was no way here.”

In addition, he uploaded a screenshot showing the N13 million (in today’s money) cost of summer tickets for an eight-person household.

He clarified that he had anticipated two of their children would be teenagers and would be responsible for paying adult expenses.

His tweet gained a lot of attention and received a lot of user responses. Some people who indicated they had a cap on the number of children they wanted concurred with his decision.

Others made light of the situation, saying he ought to have looked into more affordable options for travel.

Children are a blessing, one user remarked humorously, and another user, Farida Kabir, urged him to change his mind. “But children are a blessing nah lol,” she wrote.

The man responded that he couldn’t care for so many children and that he wouldn’t alter his mind unless he possessed a large stake in Microsoft or Google or an oil well.

He wrote:

“Honestly they are but I don’t have the capacity to handle that number. If I have an oil well or own a substantial part of Microsoft or Google, I may reconsider that.”

@estherolufuwa reacted: “I used to say I wanted to be like my dad and have 4 kids. As I grew older, I reduced to 3, later on to 2. The day I mentioned to my mum that l’|| like to have just 1 or 2 kids, she screamed and said Lai lai’m like Mummy kilode?E jo o, economy o smile mo.”

@savvymoneygirl said: “I flew my younger sisters to dubai on a luxury vacation on business then hotel accommodation for 3 people is more expensive than 2 people even if it’s same space. I decided there and then to have 2 children instead of the 5 I was planning to have so yea I feel you.”
