A Nigerian man posted a video on Twitter showing some old N200 naira notes the bank gave him.
In the video posted by @MrMekzy_ , he showed that the money given to him was very old and even rotting.
The money looked like it would tear if it was handled too hard or was folded into a wallet.

MrMekzy shared that the money smelled bad and he had to wash his hands after touching the dirty-looking naira notes.
Please return the money to the bank
He emphasized that he withdrew the money from his bank because he needed it to pay for a service in cash.
His words: “I just received this from the bank, they’re so bad and most of them are torn but half bread is better that none. We really need to do better in the way we handle our currency in this country.”
Netizens were concerned that no one would collect the old naira notes as they looked too bad to use.

Meanwhile, a Nigerian man asked for the old naira notes amid the unrest brought on by the ban on them.
The individual, known as @mcalways1 on TikTok, made a public plea for Nigerians to give him the old money they were holding.
He pleaded with Nigerians to give him , saying that the money was still being used in his area.
