Proud dad: Man celebrates son who fulfilled childhood dream of becoming a pilot

After 11 years of study, Delante Sykes, a young, brilliant man, has successfully realized his childhood dream of becoming a pilot.

After graduating from Ashbrook High School in Gastonia, North Carolina, in 2017, Delante Sykes enrolled right away at the University of North Dakota in the United States to study aviation.

Delante Skyes was enthusiastic about flying after he received his Bachelor’s degree in aviation management in 2020 and a 3.73 GPA.

He attended the University of North Dakota from 2020 to 2022 to receive his pilot training before becoming a stage check pilot.

Delaney made his father proud 

The young man was chosen by American Airlines in the first round of the airline draft shortly after finishing his requirements at the university.

In a Facebook post, his father, Valentino Skyes, said, “American Airlines picked my son in the first round of the airline draft. He was chosen for the first officer position. He began transporting passengers across the nation last week. Congrats Delante “The Durag Pilot” Sykes, First Officer.”

On LinkedIn, Delante narrated that his journey has been on for 11 years but he is glad that his dream is finally coming to pass.

In his words;

“After 11 years of prayer, planning, & perseverance, my dreams have become my reality. Let me reintroduce myself: F.O. Delante’ “The Durag Pilot” Sykes ??‍✈️.”

Exceptional Nigerian lady becomes youngest Ph.D graduate at 25

In another news, a 25-year-old lady set a new record at Babcock University by as the youngest Ph.D graduate.

The lady, Priscilla Asikhia, from Osun state, graduated from Babcock University, went for her master’s degree and later completed her Ph.D.

Priscilla disclosed while sharing her success story on LinkedIn that it took her more than ten years of dedicated study and a lot of effort to obtain a Ph.D.
