The management of Zenith bank Nigeria Plc have reached out to a customer who claimed she lost over four million Naira in her account due to strange debit alerts.
The affected lady, Chiamaka Agim, revealed that she is a former staff of the bank, and she suddenly started getting strange withdrawals from her account, which she didn’t authorise.
According to her, she was relaxing at home on January 9, 2023, when she suddenly received three debit alerts in excess of four million Naira.

She said, “When I received the first alert around 8.25, I actually thought it was a WhatsApp message. I checked it and was shocked to see that it was an alert of N3.715 million.
I was confused because I did not authorise any transaction, so I logged in to my bank app to check what was happening. That was when I got another debit alert of N222,000 and then I got the third one of N102,000.”
When there’s life, there’s hope
The Lagos state resident made a video and shared on Twitter, lamenting that all her life savings was gone and that she has just N12,000 left. She said she doesn’t engage in online transactions and didn’t initiate the strange debits on her account.
After miss Chiamaka reported the sad incident at two Zenith bank branches, they didn’t take her complaint seriously but only asked her to write a letter of complaint and submit at both branches, which she did.
“Yesterday I went to make complains about the 4 million that left my Acct @ZenithBank, and this is what their staff said to me “thank God you’re alive…Madam, am I???????,” she tweeted.
However, when Zenith Bank was contacted, the reply was that the referenced complaint was being investigated, and feedback would be communicated to the affected customer.

Meanwhile, a Nigerian woman caused a big scene in the reception hall of a commercial bank after some money in her account grew wings.
The woman allegedly stormed the bank demanding a refund after N600,000 was deducted from her account without explanation.
The enraged woman cried and demanded her money while pacing barefoot in the banking hall.
