Dorothy Jean Tillman, a native of Chicago, had a remarkable academic career from the time she was a young child.
At the age of eight months, she started talking, and by the time she was four years old, she was doing math.

When she was nine years old, she started high school, and by the time she was ten, she had graduated from the College of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois, with an associate’s degree in psychology.
What a brilliant child!
At the age of twelve, Dorothy went on to complete her undergraduate studies in the humanities at Excelsior College in Albany, New York.
She continued her excellent academic trajectory and, at the age of 14, graduated from Unity College with a master’s degree in environmental science and sustainable engineering.
She was among the youngest people in the world to accomplish such a feat as a result.
Dorothy stated that her grandma played a significant role in encouraging her interest in STEM and engineering by purchasing for her a variety of journals and books on the subject.
This inspired the enthusiastic young student to enroll in coding and engineering enrichment programs as a child.
