- It was revealed that a dime was not paid all through the 6-year primary education at that period.

A photo that found its way to the internet showcased how a free education permit card was issued to some people living in the Western Region of Nigeria in 1965.
Apparently whoever holds the card was given permission by the government to attend school without paying a dime.
The picture which was posted by @NigerianHistoryGroup showed how the permit covers 6 years of one’s education for free.

It was explained that the holder of the card can commence his/her 6-year course of primary education free of charge from the 22nd of January, 1965.
“The primary free education card permit, 1965. This card enabled for a complete primary education without pay. The free education card was issued and signed by the Chief Akintola-led government. It had been introduced ten years earlier, in 1955, by Chief Awolowo, to great acclaim, and its outcome was greater educational competitiveness,” a narration was shared.

Meanwhile, a Nigerian lady received praise from fellow Nigerians after her exceptional achievements reached the internet.
The young woman identified as Fatima Abdulwaheed Akinola made history when she became the first-ever female to obtain a perfect grade at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University in mathematics.
Following this, she got admission into a university in the US, Marshall University where she pursued her Masters of Arts degree in mathematics.
