A video of an older lady, who works as a dish cleaner at a restaurant in Chengdu, China, has gone viral after she was spotted arriving at work in a Bentley.
According to Chinese media, the woman’s daughter takes her to work and back home each day in the luxurious vehicle.
The video posted on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging platform, shows the woman getting out of the Bentley while dressed in work attire, including rubber boots and an apron.

As Bentleys are usually associated with individuals in the upper strata of society, the sight of a dishwasher lady riding one sparked strong reactions on social media. However, it was later uncovered that the woman is quite wealthy and only took the job because she didn’t want to sit idle.
“If I don’t wash dishes for a day, I feel bored and uncomfortable,” said the woman, speaking to a China Times journalist after her clip went viral.
Despite her job involving dishwashing and cleaning the restaurant, her employer confirmed that she does not require financial support. Although the woman’s family reportedly did not approve of her working, they had no option but to relent when they saw how determined she was.
