Anyone can create code: Netizens react as JAMB unravels Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma’s original score

Given the recent forgery case involving Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, it was proven online by a young individual that it is indeed possible to generate a barcode and manipulate the resulting information as desired. 

In response to a Twitter post that was comparing various QR codes, aiming to contribute to the ongoing discussion regarding the girl’s outcome, the man with the username @david_saint_ shared an additional code and encouraged individuals to scan it.

The young Nigerian man openly shared a self-generated QR code containing a fictitious JAMB (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board) score of 390. By doing so, he showed that anyone has the ability to fabricate their scores and assign themselves any desired name.

His intention behind sharing this QR code was to prove that anyone has the capability to generate their own scores and manipulate the associated name to their preference.

The individuals who scanned the code were taken aback by what they discovered, further fueling the conversation and raising questions about the authenticity of Jamb exam records. 

They were surprised when they saw Seji on Twitter as a candidate name with a fake JAMB score of 390.

There were some netizens who shared his view that QR codes had the potential to be misused by anyone aiming to counterfeit a result.

Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) 2023 score fraud was just made public by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

According to the testing organisation, candidates and their suspected sponsors defraud Nigerians by making claims about having exceptional results or having scored the highest possible on the UTME by using a certain piece of software.
