In the viral clip uploaded on Twitter, the restaurant owner rejected the newly redesigned 1,000 Naira note claiming that she doesn’t know it.

Surprised by the ignorance shown by the restaurant owner and another woman intermediary, the man tried explaining that the Central Bank of Nigeria had only recently issued the money.

However, the woman was adamant and held on to the man’s trousers and tore it while demanding the old note.

“Give me my money immediately; what kind of rubbish is this,” the restaurant owner screamed as she held on to him violently.

She said, “I never see dis kind money before, I no dey collect,” in Pidgin English as the other woman added: “Oga, pay your money,”

As a crowd gathered, the food seller accused the man of being a thief. He, however, was able to pay her with the old notes and left, with his trousers torn.
