Amazing: 14-year-old girl gains university admission set to be a doctor at 19

A 14-year-old girl set a record after she became one of the youngest African students ever to gain admission to the University of Malawi College of Medicine.

The young girl identified as Taida Mapara showed exceptional promise after she completed primary and secondary education in 8 years instead of 13.

She moved on to higher education and passed the June 2020 A’Level Cambridge examinations.

She had 3 distinctions in Biology Chemistry and Mathematics at Hillbright Science College in Zimbabwe.

Taida had dreamed of being a medical doctor and her academic record allowed for her admission to fulfill her dream.

While speaking about her journey, Taida mentioned that she got inspired to study medicine after she heard people refer to the course as hard.

“Everyone says medicine is very hard but that made me want to study it even more. If there are people out there who were able to get through it, then why can’t I?,” she said.

13-year-old girl set to become a doctor at 18 after gaining admission to US university

Meanwhile, exceptional talent, Alena Analeigh Wicker set a record as the youngest African American girl to gain admission into medical school in the US.

Alena, aged 13 secured admission into the University of Alabama Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine.

The young prodigy previously gained admission to study Engineering at Arizona State University at 12 years old.
