“Appropriate places to propose”. The word “appropriate” is intentional, because there are places where I would consider it wrong to propose. I know, you are wondering why you should care about my opinion. Well, who’s reading and who’s writing?
Proposing is an intimate tradition where either party in a relationship endeavors to tie the knot and enter the “till death do us part” phase. (Scary uh? I wonder why people rush to get married).
For such an emotional and thoughtful ritual, it is expected to put some thought into places to propose. There have been some occurrences, especially in this part of the world (West Africa, Nigeria), where the proposer gets disgraced by the proposee (shh, moving on).
Recently, we have had some particularly bold persons who propose at places of worship. Is it wrong? Yes. Common bro, allow me to ascend in peace.

There is no such thing as too safe when it comes to proposing to your partner. In the comfort of your home, you can organize the most thoughtful proposal idea. You can cook and set up a very lovely atmosphere. It can be done just before the happy ending in the bedroom (yummy uh?).
A home proposal can be very cheap, expensive, and thoughtful at the same time. This allows you to prepare yourself and puts you in a stronger position to beat whatever answer you might get.

Say yes or get sprayed! Haha, for someone like me who prioritizes a playful and healthy relationship, this is an excellent way to propose. You take your partner paintballing with a couple of friends and make sure you are on different teams. In the heat of war, gang up against them and pop the question.
This is for people who prioritize a playful relationship and not overly romantic brethren. Bear in mind, if she chooses to get sprayed, an enjoyable moment can turn bittersweet in seconds. This is why I say, know the answer before you propose.

I have had many tourists pass through the Lekki conservation center canopy walk and they say playfully “it would be scary to propose here” (I used to be a tour guide). The Lekki conservation center canopy walk is 73ft above ground level and offers a panoramic of a vast area of land.
At that scary point, it is not completely a bad idea to pop the question. For one, you are going to get the best pictures and also enjoy a “73ft-high proposal”. And you can always remind them that it’s a long way down, in case they want to say… come on! I’m kidding.
